Description

Molecular model of human lysozyme. This is an enzyme that is involved in the destruction of the sugar chains that make up some bacterial cell walls. The well ordered parts of the structure are shown in grey, but the more flexible parts of the structure are depicted as red, yellow or even white to show increasing amounts of molecular movement. The active site is the cleft on the lower part of the molecule
