About this work

Description

With the assistance of male and female acrobats, Twenties chorus girls from the Birmingham Hippodrome and physical training instructors from the Bergmann-Osterberg Physical Training College, Dartford, Kent, Professor R.D. Lockhart (1894-1987), then Professor of Anatomy at the University of Birmingham, gives an extended live-action demonstration of the anatomy of the human muscular system in both the adult male and female. Avowedly didactic in intention and highly technical in parts, the film is nevertheless not without its humorous moments and has considerable period charm.
