Notes

Alistair Park is from Heronsgate in Hertfordshire. He is not going to play the cello, or entertain in any way - he is going to observe from above like the benign angels in Gormley's earlier project. If it had rained he planned to take off his clothes to keep them dry. He hopes people will see him looking around and see the world through his eyes. He is doing the project for himself. He hopes the project shows the diversity of the community. He describes himself as tall, bald, a father of two children and basically happy; also white, middle-class and reasonably well-off. He hopes to find a bit of piece in a busy part of London. He plans to move slowly and be a living sculpture.
