Notes

Jonathan Harkin lives in Leeds (although he lived in London for 20 years where he worked as a bike courier). He loves motorbikes and kites. He described how he used to attach himself to kites in a buggy on a beach and did the same with a surfboard. Has had lots of crashes. He doesn't own a TV (when he was growing up they didn't get one in his family until he was 12 and has never been a great TV watcher). Instead he has turntables, I-pod docks etc. in every room. He shares a four storey Victorian terrace with his partner.. On the plinth he took up a couple of kites to fly off the plinth. His partner also went up on the plinth last month so he knew what to expect.
