About this work

Description

The figures form the composition by Raphael known as "Madonna del divino amore" (Raphael invenit, op. cit. pp. 204-205, 736-737), from which the column on the right is also derived. However the present work has on the left a (Northern?) landscape which differs from the background in the painting of this composition from the Farnese collection subsequently in the Museo nazionale di Capodimonte, Naples
