Letters to Professor Wilhelm von Hartel (1839-1907), classical scholar, largely on personal topics. Fleischl von Marxow studied at Leipzig and Vienna where his teachers included Redtenbacher and Ettingshausen. He became associate professor to E. W. von Brücke (1819-82) at the Vienna Medical School.
