On the leaf before the second work is an inscription 'Dissertatio de Lue Venerea. D. D. Gastaldi [sic] ego autem hanc scripsi sub disciplina Doctoris Physici D. Nicolai Saravae in Arce Monfina [or Monsina]. Doctor Physicus Parisiensis Antonius Venditto'. Produced in Naples.

Biographical note

The 'Gastaldi' mentioned here is Joachimus Castaldus of Naples, and not Jean Baptiste Gastaldy [1674-1747], a physician of Montpellier. The place mentioned in Venditto's note has not been identified, but is possibly Monza.
