Description

Notes taken by Daniel Delisle Dobree (fl. 1814-1840), MRCS Eng., of Guernsey, from lectures of John Abernethy on anatomy and physiology, and of Astley Paston Cooper (1768-1841) on surgery. Includes 102 pen and ink sketches as used by Abernethy to illustrate his lectures, and drawings of bandages, truss for hernia etc. On the rear end-paper is a sketch of an anatomist, possibly Abernethy. Inserted before f. 72 is a photograph of a seated female figure, with the inscription 'April 12th 1860. F[?] MD'.
