About this work

Description

Surgical lectures. Vol. 2. Taken down by J. Grigg.

[Anon.] Essays on painting.

The title and the first leaf of the various sections of the surgical lectures contain coloured, or plain, pen-drawn ornamental panels: there is also one coloured plate of surgical instruments.

The 'Essays on painting', written by several and probably later hands, are on the first 18 leaves starting from the other end of the volume, and continued on the next 43 versos of the 'Surgical lectures' which are written on the rectos only.

On the 7th fly-leaf is the inscription 'These lectures were taken down in time of lecture by Mr J. Grigg, surgeon; and carefully corrected at his apartments at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. 1782'.

He practised at Bath.

Produced in London.
