Summary: Matthioli's book of herbs was printed twice in Czech translation - in 1562 and 1596. The 2nd edition was edited by A. Huber von Riesenbach and D.A. von Veleslavín. One year prior to publication of 2nd ed., the authors issued an extract from it under the name "Apatéka domácí (medicine cabinet). In this version, the herbs were not arranged botanically, but by therapeutic indication. The handbook proved popular, and new editions were published in 1602 and 1620
