About this work

Description

This film is one of a series about relationships between children and adults. This title looks at a number of typical gender stereotypes and uses footage of various scenarios particularly in the home. (In schools at this time, domestic science was provided for girls and woodwork for boys, which will jar to contemporary sensibilities). Luckily, exceptions are readily found to dispell traditional gender roles. Examples of women in traditional male roles are a female taxi driver, traffic wardens and a bus driver. There is a rather cutting comment about women not being sex objects over a still image of Bo Derek.
