Description

A series of short case-studies of patients exhibiting well-marked physical signs diagnostic of a number of important tropical diseases, made under the direction of Sir Philip Manson-Bahr at the Albert Docks Hospital at various times in the early 1930s and subsequently copied onto a single 16mm reel. Conditions illustrated include:- - Terminal stages of Rhodesian Trypanosomiasis in a middle-aged European man (1933); "Beri-Beri of Paraplegic Type in a Chinaman ..."Disseminated Sclerosis of ... Spastic Type [in an elderly European man]"; "Myopathic Muscular Atrophy [Erb's Juvenile Type]"; "Encephalitis Lethargica of ... Hemiplegic Type".
