Correspondence with members of Council and Hon. Officers

These files were found in two separate sequences, one of which contained only later (1960s-1980s) correspondence, but since the other included correspondence of similar date, the sequences have been merged. Files of long-standing members of Council often contain obituaries and appreciations. The correspondence with Lady Richmond (F.6/30) includes reports on District Nursing Associations, and there is discussion of individual associations in most of the correspondence covering the years of the introduction of the National Health Service. The presence of torn scraps of paper in many of the earlier files implies that some weeding may have taken place. Files which contained only correspondence about appointment to Council, arrangements for meetings, etc, have not been selected for preservation.
