Correspondence with the Inland Revenue, Somerset House, London, concerning the application of Medicine Stamp Duty to various Burroughs Wellcome & Co products.
Files include internal memoranda, notes, and occasional examples of packaging, the particular point of interest being the wording used on packaging and labels to describe products, since it was that which largely determined a product's liability to Duty. Also included, "Report from the Select Committee on Medicine Stamp Duty" (HMSO, 1937) and other descriptive material concerning the application of Medicine Stamp Duty.
