Biographical note

Project description:In autumn 2007, the Open University (OU) and the BBC broadcast a new TV series exploring  complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM) using scientific evidence. This project used the OU’s  expertise to produce accessible, balanced materials, available online, to inform discussion about the  issues surrounding CAM, conventional medicine and scientific evidence through the OU/BBC  learning site open2.net. The OU then ran an online forum and a series of ten events throughout the  UK to engage the public and stimulate debate to find out opinions, thoughts and feelings about these  subjects. The results of these facilitated events will be made available so that they can be used by  the public, the OU, stakeholders and public engagement practitioners.
