Description

Correspondence between the Medical Research Council and Crick and Sydney Brenner regarding an article for the MRC Annual Report for 1961-62.

The file includes the article ("The genetic code") in the form of the submitted typescript and two sets of proofs. The article summarises Crick and Brenner's genetic experiments with bacteriophage T4 (Crick, et al, 1961) and the simultaneous work of Nirenberg and Matthaei with synthetic RNA that was reported at the International Biochemical Congress at Moscow (August, 1961), attended by Crick.
