Description

A book of horse cures derived from various sources, transcribed by Conrad Deschler. f. 3r. 'Ross Artzney Buech Wie einem iuden pfards in in [sic] seiner nots zue setzsen [?] ins Anno 1559 daß eryginnal zue samen geschriben wordlen von h:m:z:yl [?]: daß zweyte macht aber abgeschriben anno Domini 1751. f. 56v. foglet [sic] widerum bey [?] ein anderes guetes ross artzney buech von Königs Marzstall Rats zue den Rossen. Abgeschriben von...C:D:...1751. f. 105r. Nun folget daß dritte buech. Daß hat gemacht maister albrecht Kaysers friderechs schmids undt Marstaller zue Constantinopel...abgeschriben anno 1751. 184 ff. (original pagination/foliation 1-106, 1-48, 1-57) 1 vol., 200 × 170 mm. Original vellum covered boards, with green cloth ties. The volume has evidently progressed through the same libraries as MS.7020, bearing similar shelf marks: on spine 198Z; on front fly leaf xxxvii-c-47 (both in (?)18th cent. hands); inside front cover, in pencil, H109.

Biographical note

The writer describes himself (f. 56v.) as 'Theologico (?)Mosalinsis necnon Juris Canonici Candidato'. Two of the remedies are ascribed to Dukes Sigmund and Albrecht (? of Bavaria) respectively (ff. 6v., 7r.).
