Description

Herbal medicine. Betula pendula (Silver birch). Deciduous tree with drooping branches and silver / white peeling bark. Leaves contain phytocides which are effective germicides. Birch bark tannin used in the preparation of 'Bulgar' or 'Russian' leather. Also has diuretic and laxative properties.
