Probably a copy of the first edition, published at Lyons in 1766. Written by the same hand as MS. No. 2118 [Dictionnaire].

Biographical note

The author was appointed to the post of 'Conseiller de la Cour des Monnaies' at Lyons in 1749, but in 1763 he resigned to devote his life to the study of natural history in which he had always been interested. He became Secretary to the Académie of Lyons, and corresponded with Haller, Linnaeus and Jussieu. He had joined Rousseau in his botanical tour of 1768.

Notes

The heading used is that found in the B.M. Catalogue. Some bibliographers, including Pritzel, omit Rozier as a joint-author, and enter the work under the heading 'La Tourrette (Marc Antoine Claret de)'.
