Description

Material relating to McMichael becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society, consisting of letters from F. M.R. Walshe proposing this, a telegram from the Royal Society confirming his Fellowship, and a collection of congratulatory letters, cards and telegrams. Also included are a copy of the leaflets Notes for Newly Elected Fellows and Personal Records of Fellows of the Royal Society. Plus Royal Society Club rules and a list of members 1983-84, with brief correspondence concerning McMichael missing club dinners and being unable to present a report on historical research that the Society was funding because he had suffered a serious stroke.

After his death, the Royal Society commissioned a biographical memoir of McMichael, and the file also includes a draft of this article, a reprint and correspondence.
