Notes

A satire against John Woodward forming part of the controversy provoked by his 'The state of physick and of diseases', 1718. In reply to John Harris's 'A letter to the fatal triumvirate' 1719, published in defence of Woodward. The members of the 'fatal triumvirate' are Drs. Freind, Mead and Cade but the BM Cat.'s suggestion of Mead as author of this reply is unlikely to be correct.
