Description

A non-synchronous filmed record of the screen showing closed-circuit television test (or CCTV) of videoing eye movements. Interference patterns ar various frame speeds from 18-25 pictures (frames) per second. Eye surgery at 18 fps; 19 fps; 20 fps; 21 fps; 22 fps; 23 fps; 24 fps; 25 fps. The purpose of the filking is to record the feasibility of capturing the footage without 'elaborate' equipment. The optimum framerate was 22 fps as 'interference is minimal and information content is not impaired'.

This is one of 58 films which formed part of an additional accession in 2015 to a group of films donated to the Wellcome Trust in 2006 by The British Medical Association. The material originates from the Institute of Ophthalmology and it isn't clear when they arrived at the BMA.
