Description
This light-hearted documentary covers the history of Guy's Hospital Dental School from 1725 onwards. It is illustrated by stills and interviews with dentists who once studied and worked at Guy's. Areas covered include: Thomas Guy building his hospital, 18th century dentistry in general, Joseph Fox, the opening of Guy's Dental School, New Land Pedley and the war, the army dental corps, Guy's in World War Two, 1945 and the NSH, a student's story, a dental patient's experiences, Guy's Tower, merger of Guy's with the Royal Dental Hospital, a fight to save Guy's, the merger with King's, staff and student interviews, King's dental, The Dental Polyclinic at St. Thomas' Hospital and an interview tith Professor Nairn Wilson, Dean and Head of the Dental Institute.
