Lettering

By the King's Letters Patent. Urlings lace. Geo. Fred Urling & Co. 392 Strand, London. Wholesale and retail. Common lace full of fibre. Urling's lace free from fibre. Cotton full of fibre of which common lace is manufactured. Urling's patent thread free from fibre of which his lace is manufactured. Lace manufacturers to the Royal Family. And to her late Majesty by special appointment. The superior clearness and transparency of Urling's Lace, is best seen by shining... Further lettering on mount reads: "392 Strand. These interesting old advertisements are the only representations of these buildings as they were. Urlings thread was patented in 1817, so this view is a little later. 392 Strand North side, a door or two East from Southampton St. See Urlings trade card on back of print. Now 1919 Cooks Tourist Agency." Lettering on verso: "Nets, laces, veils, scarfs, dresses & c. Inexpensive variety and the most elegant designs. Discolo'd lace of every kind, British & foreign, bleached and improved by the patent process"
