About this work

Description

Crick's colleagues at the Salk Institute planned a scientific symposium and gala dinner on 10 January 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the structure of DNA. However, Crick asked that the event be cancelled on health grounds. Subsequently a more informal celebration was organised for 17 January 2003.

The file includes correspondence on how to handle media interest in the anniversary, with a list of 'Rules for the 50th Anniversary'.
