Notes

Edward Crook is from Wandsworth in London and works in Finance. He is actively involved in charity and over the past five years has raised money for Children With Leukaemia through a range of events including marathons, canoeing, mountain climbing and a run across the Great Wall of China. Next year he will embark on a sponsored expedition to the North Pole, which will raise money for both Children with Leukaemia and Help the Heroes. The latter is important to him as he comes from a military family, and is himself involved in the Territorial Army. He is a great admirer of British explorers throughout history and wants to experience as much of the planet first hand whilst pushing himself mentally and physically. His family is very important to him as is happiness and he wants to do as much in his lifetime as possible. His sponsor for the North Pole expedition has recently pulled out and so he will use his time on the plinth to raise awareness. On the plinth he will have a board with details of the expedition. He will also be bringing up parts of his kit including boots, thermal trousers his arctic top and his sledge.
