Description

The three listeners wear plaid, indicating that they are Scottish, while the soldiers wear uniforms of the British army under the command of the Duke of Cumberland, that was sent to Scotland from England to suppress the Jacobite rising of 1745. The soldier playing to the Scottish woman has a drum by his side and is watched by another British soldier who is smiling
