About this work

Description

This compelling film shows, in close up and dramatic stage lighting, a series of males from the waist down who have one or two legs amputated. They rotate their stumps and have their movement assessed while standing and sometimes sitting, then they are shown putting on and wearing prosthetic legs. One sequence in particular shows a man with a double amputation go from sitting on a chair to successfully putting on two prosthetic legs then walking around without sticks. In between each person a blackboard telling the patient's name, the details of their amputation, its date and its reason appears in the background.
