About this work

Description

Papers including Society President's correspondence on establishment of the Working Party and draft introductory paper for first meeting, copy of minutes of meeting 25 Jul 1980, and some correspondence of the Secretary regarding training of CMOs, Dec 1984-Mar 1986.

Set up to try to work out suitable guidelines for courses and suggest ways in which the quality and extent of training for Clinical Child Health Staff (Clinical Medical Officers) could be influenced and where and by whom courses should be organised. It was recognised that there was no general agreement as to the training required for CMOs but it was suggested that the Society might assist in promoting locally based in- service training. It was felt that if the Society could produce a detailed syllabus of training, approved by Regional Post Graduate Deans throughout the country, then this would be a substantial step towards the establishment of a training programme for CMOs.
