Notes

Chris Thomas on the plinth wants to highlight peoples hobbies. He used to be a molecular biologist focusing on genetically modifying potatoes, but he now runs a company introducing German businesses to British contacts since he is bilingual. He talks about his hobbies, including microscopy where he enjoys the artistic side of it. He also discusses his interest in communication including public speaking, publishing and the development of communication through technology. He is going on the plinth for himself and also for those people who have hobbies and would like to share them since he believes strongly in the importance of self improvement. He says that money is not important, he focuses more on his relationships. Chris talks about his family history, his grandfather, how his parents met and discusses the family members he has all over the world. He also talks about his immediate family, wife and two children. In the future he would like to expand his interest in publishing stories from local authors.
