About this work

Description

A list of RDS members who wrote to their MPs, campaigning against the Houghton Bill. Extracts for (RDS journal) 'Conquest' (July 1973): "The Chairman of the RDS Council wrote to all Members on 4th July, 1973, urging them to consider the effect of [the] Bill on their own work, and to write to their Member of Parliament about it. About 300 notified us that they had done so, many sent us copies of their letters. We are grateful for permission to reproduce the following extracts, which illustrate some of the difficulties that could arise in deciding whether an alternative was valid." The extracts are photocopies.
