About this work

Description

Chromo-litho card advertising B.T. Babbitt's '1776' "Medicinal Yeast, a perfect and pure chemical compound which should be in every kitchen." The front shows a boy in a blue-grey suit and a girl in a red dress sitting under a tree in a field with a wooden fence running into the distance. The boy is playing with a puppet of Mr. Punch, pulling a string to move its arms and legs to the surprise of a young border collie. An illustration of the 1776 box is in the sky in the upper right corner.
