Biographical note
Medact was formed in 1992 as a merger between the Medical Campaign Against Nuclear Weapons (MCANW) and the Medical Association for the Prevention of War (MAPW). To Coordinate the merger, a Joint MAPW/MCANW Executive Committee and MAPW/MCANW Joint Planning Committee were established to coordinate the merger.
