Diary whilst fitting out for Antarctic Expedition in 1839. Author's holograph MS. The first 46 pp. are missing. The diary extends from 22 February to 1 October, 1839. The expedition in question was that of Sir James Clark Ross [1800-1862] in H.M.S. Erebus, 1839-1843 in which McCormick was surgeon and naturalist.
