(Typescript) copy contains holograph additions and corrections. Published in the Quarterly Journal of Medicine, April, 1912, Vol. V, No. 19. (2) Pleural effusion due to B. Biographical note

The Author studied at Liverpool University and at University College, London, and obtained his M.D. in 1889. He was elected F.R.C.P. in 1906, was professor of therapeutics and medicine at Liverpool from 1906 to 1924, and in 1931 was President of the Royal Infirmary, Liverpool.
