Notes

The title has been taken from wording on the object.
Following a query relating to the date associated with the year of creation, which was based on the postmark 1914, the date was changed to 1908 (probable) as Tonge features in a joint photograph in the National Portrait Gallery with the actress Iris Hawkins, in identical attire, in this year.
This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
