Biographical note

Sir James Crichton-Browne was the son of Dr W. A. F. Browne, Physician Superintendent at Crichton Royal Institution, 1838-1857.

Ownership note

The name and date, 'Alfred McKeachie, 10th Feby. 1926', is written on the inside of the book and notes by the former Health Board Archivist state the book was passed to her by Dr Penman in November 1997and seems to have come from Mrs Moira McKeachie.
