A statement of the objectives of and the need for a general hospital, and a plea for financial support
The "Appendix" (p. [22]-32) includes a report, dated Mar. 22, 1819, of the consulting physicians of the hospital's Asylum, opened in Charlestown in 1818; a circular letter signed by Dr. Isaac Rand and Dr. John Warren, dated June 1811, urging the establishment of the general hospital; and three unsigned letters by physicians addressed "to a member of the Board of Trustees," which had been subjoined to the hospital's "The Trustees ... to the public," published in 1816.
