Description

Correspondence with Surgeon Captain Ian Hamilton RN and Surgeon Captain Claud Keating RN regarding the first use of a method of applying plaster of Paris splints combined with a Thomas splint. This relates to Maitland versus Keating, a 1947 High Court dispute at which Milne was asked to arbitrate. Milne's notes on the techniques of plaster of Paris splints used at differnt Naval hospitals are also included.

Correspondence between Milne and Dr A. K. Bowman on the subject of Milne's paper on whether the osteomy operation and the term 'osteome'. This was presented to the British Orthopaedic Association in May 1943, and later reproduced in the British Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, July 1944. In addition to this, the file includes a reprint of an article on Macewan's osteomy by Sir D'arcy Power taken from the January 1925 edition of The British Journal of Surgery, and notes by Milne on three generations of surgeons named Adams.
