About this work

Description

Fluorescent micrograph of the developing limbs of a chick embryo a 9 days-post-fertilisation. A lysotracker dye has been used to visualise cell death between the developing digits of the limb. This fluorescent dye is taken up by cells that have a permeable membrane - i.e. dying and allow for easy identification of apoptosis (cell death).
