Description
Three volumes of reports, labelled Patients Books, written from 1880-1948 by the Commissioners of the General Boards of Lunacy and Control for Scotland. They also include lists of causes of death, details of other statutory registers such as registers of restraint and seclusion, escapes and accidents; observations about the general condition of patients, their treatment and the state of the hospital buildings, wards, grounds and facilities. Observations are also noted about hospital management, staffing levels and the keeping of the statutory registers.
One file of reports, 1950-1964, by the Commissioners of the General Board of Control and the Mental Welfare Commission providing patients statistics, details about treatments, the hospital environment, patient diet, the School of Nursing, Out Patient services and statutory registers.
