Biographical note
The Library of the Institute was established in 1920; it rapidly amassed a collection to support medical researchers, focused on medical sciences rather than clinical medicine. The holdings reflected the research interests of the Institute, offering a snapshot of 20th century medical research, with particular strengths in neuroscience, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry and biophysics, structural biology, developmental biology, immunology, parasitology, virology and microbiology.
