About this work

Description

Black and white photograph of [E]lizabeth Scott, an American actress, singer and model, wearing a black dress and evening gloves; it is a cropped publicity still for the film Dead Reckoning in 1947. Scott was publicly outed as one of 'Hollywood's weird society of baritone babes', a euphemism for lesbians, by the gossip magazine Confidential, however Scott strongly denied this unsuccessfully suing for libel in 1957.
