Description

Certificate of admission of David Pringle, formerly apprentice to James Borthwick, surgeon apothecary, as a surgeon apothecary of the Brotherhood of Apothecaries and Surgeon Apothecaries of Edinburgh, following a report on his sufficiency by Patrick Hepburne, apothecary, and Thomas Kincaid, surgeon apothecary. This is an early document in the history of the surgeon apothecary, the Incorporation of Surgeon Apothecaries having been founded at Edinburgh only in 1657. Cf.
