About this work

Description

Miscellanous bills for groceries, textiles, and other goods, mainly from English merchants, but including one bill for a Mr Wilkin from the manufacture Royale de Porcelaine de Sèvres, 1825.

Firms include Robert Norris, mercer of Beverley, William Slater, cheesemonger of Norwich, and R. Rotherford, of York, evidently a publican or restauranteur. In addition, three Newark businesses are represented: S. & J. Ridge, bookseller and printer, John Hole, draper, and Nicholson & Corden, draper and worsted manufacturer. All the bills have engraved headers.
