Thyroidectomy.

This film shows an attractive female patient prior to a thyroidectomy operation. The intertitles explain that she will be acclimatised to an oxygen tent prior to her operation, which is then seen. Her nose is sprayed with 1% cocaine prior to anaesthesia (by nitrous-oxide and oxygen) using a closed circuit method. The thyroidectomy is then shown with nasal intubation using the Magill method. Upon completion of her operation, the patient is repeatedly bound around her throat and chest. She regains consciousness and we see her on the ward in the oxygen tent. After 14 days she goes home and two months later she is seen fully recovered.
