Notes

Jess Hankins comes from Northampton. She is studying French and Politics at Newcastle University. She is concerned about the lack of importance placed on language learning in British schools. Went to a private school and studied French, German and Russian. Spent a year as a teaching assistant in Grenoble which she enjoyed very much. Has written a speech which she is going to deliver on the plinth.
