About this work

Description

The seventh in a series of 10 reel to reel tape recordings of Joan Malleson's pioneering work in sex therapy and councilling from c. early 1950's. Malleson worked in ALRA and then FPA / North Kensington Clinic. Although none of the participants on the recordings are named, some details have been hand-written onto the reel to reel tape boxes. For this particular tape, the hand-written note reads: "Not edited. A case of anxiety neurosis referred from E.G.A. It appeared to be a history of vaginal anaesthesia until I examined her and was surprised to find an intact hymen. She was very much inclined to deny her difficulties." See PP/MAL/7a for a digitised copy of this recording.
