About this work

Description

Physica. Lecture-notes taken down by T. Crocquet at the Jesuit College at Louvain: in Latin. Illustrated with engraved title-pages, and plates of scientific diagrams, some partly coloured by hand, symbolical vignettes, etc.: with a few pen-drawings and diagrams. The engravings, published by Michael Hayé at Louvain, are not numbered, and those on optical subjects resemble the illustrations to the 'De homine', but they have not been positively identified. On fol. 4 the scribe states that the MS. contains the work of two professors, 'quorum primarius unus est illeque Dominus p[ater] Andreas Blanche Herbiensis, alter secundarius scilicet Dominus p[ater] Andreas Goron ignotae mihi patriae'. On the verso of the same leaf Blanche is stated to be 'Professor Primarius' in florentissimo paedagogio Lilii, in florentissima mundi ... Academia Lovaniensi.' Produced in Louvain.
