A.M. Zanetti stated in a letter of 17 May 1763 that he had executed the three prints of Chiron teaching Achilles, of which this is one, "da tre disegni di Gio. Benedetto Castiglione": Kowalczyk, loc. cit., where it is suggested that the prints were made from drawings by Zompini after Castiglione
